Regulatory & Government Bodies

Our operations are fully licensed under Indonesia’s Law No. 17 of 2008 concerning Shipping and are conducted in close cooperation with key authorities. • Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut (DJPL): Our collaboration with the Directorate General of Sea Transportation is critical. We work directly with the local Harbormaster (Syahbandar) in Sorong to secure the Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (SPB), or port clearance, for every single departure. All our vessels are Indonesian-flagged and meet stringent DJPL safety inspections, and our crew hold all necessary competency certifications (e.g., ANKAPIN III for captains) for the waters we navigate.
• BLUD UPTD Raja Ampat: As the official management body for the Raja Ampat Marine Park, our relationship with the BLUD UPTD is fundamental to our conservation ethos. We contribute directly to their community-based conservation programs and our guides rigorously enforce the no-touch, no-harassment policies that are vital to protecting the manta ray and shark populations within the Raja Ampat Shark and Ray Sanctuary.

• Indigenous Guiding Services: We exclusively hire local Papuan guides from villages like Arborek and Sawinggrai for specialized excursions. Their ancestral knowledge of the region’s complex currents, which can exceed 6 knots in the Dampier Strait, and their ability to spot endemic wildlife like the Red Bird-of-Paradise is unparalleled.
